About me
Yufei Huang (黄昱斐) is a composer and guitarist whose music blends classical tradition with modern expressivity. Born in China and currently based in Japan, he explores the emotional depths of music, from delicate, harmony-rich melodies to raw, unfiltered sonic landscapes.
Having studied psychology and music at Cornell University, Yufei is now pursuing a composition degree at Showa University of Music. His work spans all types of setups within the classical tradition, as well as piano and guitar solos in a more pop-influenced style. He has a deep love for music that is profoundly melodic, rich in harmony, and emotionally stirring—blurring the lines between absolute and program music to create deeply immersive experiences. While his compositions reflect this passion, they also explore a diverse range of styles, from traditional to modern, always seeking new sonic possibilities.
He often jokes that he enjoys music that can drive him to the brink of depression—because sometimes, the most beautiful emotions lie in the deepest sorrow.
Beyond music, Yufei is passionate about photography, traveling, and immersive gaming experiences. His love for vintage aesthetics and profound storytelling extends across his artistic pursuits, whether through sound, images, or the places he explores.
